Membership in the GSBB has its benefits. Under the expert guidance of Jazz Educator Greg Bush, community musicians are encouraged to take their playing to another level. The Georgia Strait Big Band fosters a supportive group dynamic, where players, both young and not-so-young, learn the musical vocabulary of big band jazz phrasing, articulation and sectional playing.

Improvisation is a part of the genre and opportunities for improvisation are shared and encouraged. The Georgia Strait Big Band seeks to perform regularly to showcase its members dedication and accomplishments.

If you are a musician who would like to be surrounded by like-minded supportive individuals, then join us!
